Mrs. Miller's Medical Fund

Many of you know my mom by Mrs. Miller or Kim Miller. She has been a high school English teacher at South Salem High School for the past 20 years and is a native of Oregon. She has devoted so much time and energy to her teaching career because she loves it so much. She loves teaching, collaborating with her fellow educators, and is passionate about seeing kids succeed. She also dearly loves her husband "The Fisherman" Steve Miller and her two children. My mom is a generous spirit - always helping others - always there to support when it's needed, and that's why I'm posting this gofundme so that we can give back to her when she really needs the support.
This past spring Kim was experiencing a variety of menopausal type symptoms: hot flashes, mood swings, fatigue, etc. and then in June realized that a lump she had assumed was a cyst had grown quite large. After a mammogram, ultra sound, and biopsies, Kim was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer) that has metastasized into the lymph nodes. After testing it was determined that the cancer is ER, PR, and HER2 positive - so very aggressive. To fight this cancer she must complete six cycles of hard core chemo treatment with four different drugs every 21 days, followed by surgery when the lump has shrunk. Then six or more cycles of chemo that is less aggressive if everything goes well. That is at least 5-6 months of aggressive treatment and at least a year to fight this cancer.
My mom would never ask for help, and is in fact embarrassed at the thought of a gofundme set up for her, but she truly needs the help. I know if any of her amazing friends or our family were going through this she would be the first one to help out - she is just that generous! She shouldn't be worried and stressed about how she is going to pay for medical insurance (Cobra) and bills when she is struggling to fight this terrible cancer. The purpose of this fund is to defray costs while my mom is without income combating cancer. These funds would be a tremendous help and relief so that she can focus on healing herself.
