Michael's medical fund

Michael Dixon, "Mr. Michael" as he is referred to, our beloved camp driver, for nearly 10 years, has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer.  Michael, and his wife,  have raised 8 adopted children. Michael worked 2 full time jobs to support his family, and give them the education and opportunities that one could only imagine. Never once did he complain about being tired. He would ALWAYS greet others with a huge hello, and a smile that would warm your heart.  3 years ago Michael and his wife were so proud, as their oldest son was the first family member to graduate from college. 
Michael is not just our driver, he is our family. He truly cares about all of our children, and watches after them. If parents are late for pick up, he makes sure that the kids remain safely on the (air conditioned) bus until their parents arrive.  Many of our camp families are not even aware that Mr. Michael safely transports their children to and from camp, on our many, many field trips, as well as our cross country trips.  When camp is not in session, Michael is our preferred driver, safely driving members of our Senior community to events. We are truely thankful for Michael. In just a few weeks, Michael will begin his journey and start chemotherapy and radiation treatments. During this time, it is highly likely that he will not be able to work. Like many others, he will not be fully compensated for the time that he is unable to work. It was so important to Michael that he be here for our children during the first few weeks of camp, to allow the children to see a familiar face, as well as ease many nervous parents who ALWAYS request Michael! He has always been there to comfort us, and now I am asking all of you to help Michael and his family. Please join in helping Michael and his lovely family cover the exorbitant costs of his medical treatment, and basic needs while he is unable to receive a paycheck.
