Jennifer Leach's Cancer Fight

My cancer journey began in February 2012 when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. I had a left breast radical mastectomy and 6 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by six weeks of radiation to my chest. I had to get one of the chemo drugs targeted for my specific breast cancer for an entire year. I also have been taking hormone therapy, which is a five year treatment. Once my initial treatment was over, I was given a clean bill of health and have been living life to the fullest these past two years, visiting my oncologist every three months for a blood test to keep track of my tumor markers and give me some peace of mind. That peace of mind was shattered during my October oncologist visit, my tumor markers had gone up, an indicator that cancer could be present in my body, so we needed to do further scans. That was the beginning of the whirlwind as we discovered that my breast cancer has returned, and has metastasized to my lungs and brain.  I began treatment  getting chemotherapy every three weeks and had a cyber knife procedure on my brain. I now have stage 4 breast cancer, for which there is no cure. (Yet!) I have started a new chemotherapy treatment and am hopeful between this, clinical trials, and immunotherapy... this will be my miracle and can be for others as well.

I am a woman, daughter, sister, friend, teacher and volunteer.  Most importantly, I am a single mom of two precious girls who are 9 and 6 years old. I am ready to fight with all that I have in order to be here as long as possible to see my daughters grow up. God is my rock, for He is carrying me and my family just as He has in the past. Even in the darkest of times, He has shown me joy, peace and grace, for this I am truly grateful and blessed. 

While I fight this battle, everyday life does not stop.  I still need to financially support my daughters as well as pay basic everyday and medical bills.  I am asking for any support that you can give. Thank you in advance and God Bless.
