MRI & Spinal Surgery for Toby

Hi everyone. This is our family dog, Toby. He is a sweet, 8 year old beagle mix who has been a member of our family since he was a little pup. Last night, after realizing Toby wasn't walking right and after he started yelping in pain, he was taken to the emergency animal hospital and we received the very sad and sudden news that he has something going wrong in his spinal cord, causing great pain to his hind legs. He is unable to now walk and is confined to his doggie bed for the next two weeks, at least,  as we await to see if the medication the vet prescribed helps his condition. 

Unfortunately, we don't know what's wrong for sure as it could be several things ranging from a slipped disk in his spine which would be operable, to a possible tumor. We just don't know, and that is due to the fact that the MRI test alone, to actually see what's wrong, costs $4000 out of pocket. 

We are deeply saddened that there may be a way to heal Toby through an operation, but without the MRI test we can't know for sure. He may be able to have a full life, and this may be an injury that can be fixed through surgery, but after the two weeks on his medication is up, if he hasn't improved we will have to make a very difficult decision to put him down if we can't afford the MRI. 

We will use 100% of the donations towards Toby's MRI to see what is causing his pain and injury, and if he needs surgery we will get him the surgery. If we hit our goal that would cover the cost completely for the MRI, as it is too expensive for us right now.

Toby is a playful, and gentle dog who loves playing with his toys, getting treats, and curling up right next to you. His life expectancy is much longer, and it would be unfair to have his life cut short when there may be something we can do about his pain.

We please ask that you help. If you can donate, then please donate what you can so that we would be able to simply afford this test, to at least be able to know what more we can do for Toby. He's a sweet boy who deserves to have as long of a life as he can. We hope that the test would show that the cause of his pain is operable, but without your help we may not be able to know.
