On Monday, February 2 our adopted children Samantha and James (Sammie & Jimmy) received the very sad news that their birth father Mike had passed away suddenly in his sleep. He was 55.
Though Samantha and James were adopted by our family a few years ago, they loved Mike very much. They understood that he was a good man at heart, who dealt with many personal demons. Mike wanted the best for them and that ultimately lead them to us and where they are now.
Mike passed away without having any kind of life insurance or arrangements to cover the expenses for his final resting. Mike left behind 3 other children (in addition to Sammie & Jimmy) who are also in no position to pay for his resting. Our family has decided to take on those costs for the sake of our children - so that they may have closure, be able to grieve properly and move on with their lives.
Any help with these expenses would be greatly appreciated by not only our family, but especially Sammie and Jimmy.
We are also planning on having a small "celebration of life" gathering in April. Details of that event will follow at a later date.
