Help Duke Save A Paw

Donation protected
We have a 12 year old Miniature Pinscher named Duke. Duke is on the smaller scale of dogs weighing 14lbs, but has a very big heart. He loves his cuddles, his pile of blankets, and his partner in crime, Shyla. His favorite hobbies would be hiking the great outdoors, being kayaked around lakes, and camping. Unfortunately, Duke has recently been having issues walking and complications with everyday activities. On April 21st, he started to walk with a limp coming from his front left leg. We noticed his upper leg was a bit swollen and underneath his paw he also had what it looked like to be a Mass. We had called Banfield Pet Hospital to set him up with the earliest appointment we can squeeze our Duke into. The veterinarian called us back to follow up, the paw did have a Mass underneath, but recommended we get Duke to see a specialist. Another week trying to get Duke into an appointment with a specialist, they wanted to take X-rays to ensure the Mass wasn’t spreading throughout his body. Along with the X-rays, the specialist is going to want blood work done to see if there is cancer cells in Duke’s body. Since there is a Mass under his paw, there were 3 options to get rid of it temporarily or permanently. The first option we have is to cut out the Mass going around the toes but have a high risk of it coming back and repeating a surgery. Second option, they remove most of the Mass and stitch his two toes together, but some tissue may be left behind for it to spread again. Our third option is to amputate his toes, but the Mass would then be 100% removed. It's not an easy choice whatsoever, but for Duke to continue living a plentiful life, we will be going with option 3. We need to do surgery as soon as possible so the mass doesn't spread to the rest of his paw or even his body. Option 3 is the most expensive but if we chose the other 2 options and the Mass grows back, we will have to spend even more to have another surgery done. With the X-Rays, blood work, and the surgery, the total comes to $3100. He is our furr baby and we will do everything we can to get the surgery he needs. We understand that times are tough for everyone right now, but every penny helps to give Duke a successful surgery and a healthier life. Our family and Duke thanks you from the bottom of our heart.
