Mr. Vernon's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Vernon Reed, our beloved custodian at McKeendree Day Care, was walking downtown (in the rain) and slipped on a metal sidewalk grate. He fell hard, injuring his face and also breaking his leg in two places. He does not have health insurance. More importantly, he has little paid leave accumulated and therefore will not be earning money during his recuperation.
He had surgery at Vanderbilt to place a rod in the broken leg. He is wearing a boot and using a walker to move about; he seems to be recovering well. Although Vanderbilt Hospital is offering some grace, he expects to have some medical bills, which can be very costly. When Mrs. Cindy mentioned that several folks had asked about ways to financially help him through this transition, he was moved to tears.
Any amount will be of great assistance.
