Mr. Scott Thompson

Mr. Thompson is a beloved third grade teacher at Burns Park Elementary School. In his years teaching second and third grade his students learned much beyond the curriculum. They used math skills, communication, and teamwork to create marble runs and water bottle holders and pretty much anything Scott and his students could dream up together.

The life he led before teaching and outside the classroom was infused into the students’ experiences. His operatic vocal training came out in birthday serenades and in the classical music they heard during reading time. His mountain biking hobby inspired signs on his classroom walls.

Recently his battle with cancer and with a broken leg mean he’s left the classroom to focus on his health. Classroom parents and friends are collecting funds to help Scott and his family during this most difficult time.
