Mr Dunn Needs Knee Surgery

This past weekend, Dunn was playing outside with his two sisters (& I was in the kitchen), when I heard him bounce off the back deck like he always does -- but, this time when he landed, he let out a sharp yelp. I ran to the back door, only to find him standing in the yard, not putting weight on his back left leg. I had hoped a few days of rest & pain relievers would put him on the mend (afterall, the deck he "jumped" off of was only 10 inches off the ground!), but a few days later he was still hopping around on three legs, so we went to see the Vet. We found out last night that Mr. Dunn has ruptured his CCL (knee ligament) in his left hind leg. He needs surgery as soon as possible to repair this rupture, and to keep him from injuring the other knee while he compensates -- he currently can't put weight on the injured leg, adding more stress to his currently "healthy" right leg.  I don't want him to be in pain longer than he needs to be, nor do I want him to injure his other knee, so I am currently keeping him as immobile as possible. As you can imagine, this isn't easy with an active, otherwise-healthy 6yo dog who doesn't understand what's happening. But unfortunately, I don't have the funds right now to even schedule his surgery date. All told, including pain & other medications for post-op, expenses look like they will reach up to $1,500 -- and I/we need help! I simply don't have the funds right now. The faster I/we can raise the money, the sooner I can schedule his surgery & get him on the road to healing. If you can help, I would be forever grateful.
