Mr. B Finally Lets Himself Get Help - Vet bills!
Mr. B. is a neighborhood cat with several shelter boxes in the 'hood and a number of souls who feed him for at least 2-3years. Today he showed up totally not using his left front paw. I said to him “if you let me put you in a carrier I will take care of you” and so he's now at the emergency vet. Finally. After escaping capture for years, he was just sick and exhausted.
So! Vet says Mr. B IS a male and not neutered. Also no microchip. They think he is between five and seven years old. His leg shows no breaks but they suspect he got in a fight and has abscesses. He's running a fever and is lethargic (THAT'S why I could finally get him). So they will sedate him and give him IV medication and check over everywhere for abscesses. And a flea/tick bath and medication. Feluke check.
Then it will be off to a primary care vet for a neuter and shots. I'll then get a bead on his temperament - is he doomed to be a TNR, or can he be domesticated? And go from there.
I just saw him sitting there on the back porch this morning, clearly in distress, and there you go.
