It means a lot to me and my family.
Our dearest Brittany and Becky have experienced a very sad and unexpected medical event with their first French Bulldog and family protector, Gypsy :'(
On August 6th, Gypsy began having extreme pain and showing signs of paralysis (incontinence, inability to walk). Brittany and Becky rushed her to the ER and veterinarians found no signs of injury or foul-play, so they returned home with pain meds and a terrified piglet. The symptoms became worse by morning and too difficult to bear, so they returned to the ER. After numerous tests, a Neurologist confirmed Gypsy needed surgery to remove a congenital bone malformation protruding into her spinal cord.
The odds were good and the decision was obvious: Gypsy was rushed into emergency surgery within 48 hours of her first symptoms, possibly saving her life. Gypsy is now recovering at home, relearning to walk and showing progress everyday. This story has a happy ending and we are extremely grateful for Gypsy's recovery, yet we all know the timing of these things are never ideal.
If you know Brittany and Becky, you know they're amazing role-models; setting goals and making real sacrifices to reach them. You know the tremendous light they bring into the world. You know they always put their friends, family, and community before themselves.
Something you may not know is they've been working overtime for a couple years and saving *everything* to purchase their first home. When deciding whether to send Gypsy into surgery in the early morning hours of August 7th, they didn't hesitate - but it broke our hearts to see the dream of their own home slip further away. THIS is the reason for our funding request.
Please help us cover Gypsy's medical bills and restore Brittany and Becky's dream of purchasing their first home.
$1, $5, $10 - Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
