Sandy Woods' husband Kelly passed away yesterday morning at the age of 51 after suffering the past couple years of a respiratory disease. We went to Neal and Summers funeral home today (Martinsville, IN) to make arrangemets. This is where the nightmare begins. Kelly and Sandy were sold a life insurance policy several years ago and to Sandy's dismay found out today it was worthless. The funeral home director then procreeds to tell Sandy that unless the funeral is paid in full by 9 am on Friday morning (2-20-2015), they refuse to continue with the funeral. Kelly had been unable to work the last couple years and was on limited social securiy disability. Sandy worked until she was needed to care for her terminally ill husband. She asked to make payment arrangements and was informed that since she had just told them her financial situation they could not take the risk. Again, if this is not paid by Friday, 2-20-2015, they will not allow Sandy to bury her husband unless it is in a pauper's grave. She is only asking for a showing of Kelly for 2 hours prior to a service that will follow with cremation. If anyone can help at all with this, she will be forever grateful. If not, please say a prayer that God sees fit to answer our prayers.
