MPA Class 2021 House of Heroes Scholarship

Donation protected
The 12th grade teachers and the Senior Student Leadership committee created the House of Heroes Scholarship Challenge to encourage the Class of 2021 to stay connected and finish strong.

Like so many others, the Madison Park Academy Class of 2021 is experiencing their final year of high school through distance learning. Being isolated from trusted friends, teachers, and mentors is a tough hill to climb. Enter the House of Heroes Scholarship Challenge to help students stay connected and engaged.

Students are grouped in houses of 4-5 people. The houses are named after influential Oakland heroes - Angela Davis, Assata Shakur,  Stephen Curry, and Zendaya to name a few.

Students earn house points by completing tasks like:
- Completing college/trade school applications
- Completing senior milestones like Capstone
- Attending and engaging in virtual community meetings
- Making year book submissions

Our loved seniors will be leaving us under uncertain circumstance and the needs of our community, Deep East Oakland, are already so great.  We hope to send our scholarship recipients off with additional support in the form of $500 for each house member.

The more money we raise the more houses and students we can share scholarships with!

Thank you!
