Kendall's cranial helmet

Kendall has been diagnosed with moderate to severe brachycephaly with plagiocephaly or more commonly known as a flat head. This is causing her head to be flat in the back and pushed out on the sides and top. Her brain itself is healthy thankfully however this is causing some symmetrical issues with her face and ears. It is best that we have her fitted for a helmet that will allow her skull to reposition into a more normal shape. She will be wearing this helmet for 6-9 weeks 23 hours a day. She will go in for weekly appointments where they will adjust the helmet.

Unfortunately our insurance (tricare) does not cover this treatment as they consider it cosmetic since it is not bad enough to need surgery first. We are raising money to go towards the cost of this treatment. We are awaiting a final price from cranial technologies however we are looking anywhere between $2,500-$3,600.

An appointment will be scheduled within the next couple of weeks for her fitting and she will have her custom made helmet within 7 days of that appointment.
