Moxy Cotton-Sox's Surgery
Moxy was playing with our cat Sully, running through the house, on and off furniture, up and down the stairs like normal, when she started crying and yelling extremely loud. When I brought her to the vet for x-rays, they showed how she had snapped her femur in half, right in the center of her thigh. The options I have are to amputate her entire back leg (estimated $2300), have it fixed as it should be (estimated $3500-$4500), or surrender her to the shelter where they will fix her and then proceed to find her a new home (give her up forever). My vet recommended having her leg surgically repaired, with resetting the bone and using plates and screws to hold it in place while it heals. Moxy is 11 months old and has her whole life ahead of her. If she has her leg repaired my vet said she should live a normal, active boxer life.
I am a single father with two children, Ayla (8) and Wyatt (4) and their mother is not in the picture. 
It has been a very difficult year for both of them and I can't stand to tell them that we now have to surrender Moxy to the shelter because I cannot afford to pay for her to get her leg repaired. Ayla and Wyatt have been without their mother and I just don't want them to be without someone else they love.
The funds raised here will go to pay for Moxy's surgery and after care appointments, as well as medicines and any additional treatments she needs.
Unfortunately for us this is very time sensitive as her surgery has to be scheduled and take place by Tuesday, Oct 31st in order to avoid more potential pain and problems for Moxy as her bone will start to build calcium around the fracture and heal out of place.
I have never used this site before, but for the first time I feel like I have no other options to help take care of my family and I'm asking if you, or anyone you know are able and willing to help me out. Every dollar donated over the amount I need to take care of Moxy will be re-donated to another family in need through this site.
