Movses Ter-Oganesyan Memorial Fund

There is no set limit on the fund. All funds donated will be used for projects to honor and commemorate Movses Ter-Oganesyan. It was his enduring wish to open an affordable Armenian school in Glendale to preserve Armenian language and culture. He wanted to ensure that Armenian-American youth would be able to easily access information about their traditions and keep the connections between the generations strong. We are currently looking into establishing a Foundation and researching the possibility of scholarships in the meantime. We are resolutely hopeful we will unveil a school in Movses’s honor.

Movses Ter-Oganesyan was born on July 30, 1991 at Glendale Adventist Hospital. He was born and raised in Glendale and fell deeply in love with his community. First, he attended Armenian Sisters’ Academy, a Private Armenian Catholic school in La Crescenta, which reinforced his strong morals and his sense of cultural pride. After middle school, he attended Clark Magnet High School and continued his education at Glendale Community College. His capacities surpassed the academic realm as he was a profound musician and decorated pianist, making the most out of each room with a piano and entrancing those around him with his music. In addition to his extensive academic involvement, he was motivated to continue his contribution within his community as his civic duty. This began through community service and volunteer work with Kiwanis and GCC. An eloquent and articulate speaker, Movses graduated California State University Northridge as an English Literature major. He selflessly gave his time to an infinite number of causes, a small fraction of which included the beautification of and the Christmas toy drives for the College View campus and a Thanksgiving food drive for Ascencia Homeless Shelter.

He discovered his innate talent and true passion working in politics, beginning his work with several local elections, campaigns, and causes. Through these experiences he met many individuals who influenced his voice in politics, and he grew to understand his ability to enrich and impact to his community. Movses spoke with passion and moved others to action. He exhibited dual patriotism to the fullest, defending his ancestral roots as well as the land in which they were currently sown. His influence within the community catapulted him into a position of influence, establishing him as a political liaison with the people’s best interests at heart.

He was a highly respected political advisor, helping many leaders currently on this stage with their campaigns, including his work for the current Glendale mayor as campaign manager and High Votes Director for the ANCA. Movses was a Fellow for the Eurasian Research and Analysis Institute and was a journalist for renowned publications including Forbes, The Hill, The National Interest, and the Daily Wire.

Due to a sudden and brief illness, he was taken from this world in an unexpected and unforgivable manner after travelling to Artsakh out of concern for his people. Through his words and our memories, he will continue to live on as being one of the most charismatic, captivating, and unforgettable individuals of our time. It has been nothing but an honor to know and share the presence of Movses Ter-Oganesyan.

He leaves behind his mother, father, three younger brothers, and his remarkable legacy.
