Moving the Mighty 7!!!

Somebody STOLE their house!!! At least that's what it feels like when you have to explain to your children that they will have to move soon because their house was sold to somebody without mommy and daddy's permission. My husband and I were recently paid a visit on 8/16/18 by a man claiming to own our home. "I'm sorry...this is going to sound crazy...I know you have been here a long time, but I own this house." The home we purchased in June of 2010. Where we reside and have been paying mortgage for the last 8 years. I immediately asked him to leave our property and contacted our police department. While he angrily took pictures of the house and vehicle in the driveway. To my surprise when I searched our county auditor's page there was indeed two transfers made on 7/31/18. We were never made aware of, or signed to transfer ownership. When I contacted the mortgage company to whom we make payments they where not aware of any title changes either. They did however, make it clear that we are still responsible to make all of our mortgage payments. I made the trip to our county records department where no one could answer how our home was seemingly bought right out from under us and deeds transferred without us, the "previous owners", or mortgage bank being involved. The supervisor and department head were just as baffled as we were.  The owner who sold us the property is deceased and the original lender is no longer operating business. We received legal council and filed a police report on 8/31/18 due to four very aggressive attempts to gain access to our home by the gentleman claiming to represent the "current owners."  Apparently, our house should not have been sold to us and has recently been sold right out from underneath us. We've been advised to submit a title insurance claim and prepare to move.  http://www.dbusiness.com/March-April-2017/Pension-Scam/#.W6KN6XtKjIV  There has been a case that involves our home and the Detroit Police and Fire Pension property scam out of Wayne County Michigan. We were told that the case opened in 2008 and judgement was made in 2012. We purchased our home with a Survivorship Warranty Deed in 2010 with what we thought was a clean title. We thought wrong.   We have requested that the corporation evict us, our seven children, two cats and a dog, and not come to our home again. Thankfully no one has, but we do need to be preparing to move sooner than later. Alarmingly the "new owners" received their first piece of mail at our residence. A water bill. Yes, that's right. They have made another transfer WITHOUT NOTICE. Legal yes, ethical not so much. I contacted the water company, only to get an apologetic, "I'm sorry Mrs Thomas." "Only the owners can change it back" and "We can't give you any balance or account information." We are working with a lender and realtor to purchase a new home and would like to have this situation resolved as quickly as possible. We also need to obtain a retainer fee for legal council to ensure the title company does what they are liable to do. Because we are not as prepared to purchase a new home as we were 8 years ago, we hope to enter into a lease option/land contract. Time is sensitive. We need to secure a significant down payment and earnest money, all while continuing to pay our current mortgage payment until our claim has been accepted and processed. Will you please help us? In less than a month we are facing thousands of dollars in unexpected financial burden. We live in a one income household. My husband has decided to work all the overtime he is allowed while suffering a back injury and now we need to MOVE THE MIGHTY 7!!! Thank you for taking the time to read our story and carry some of this weight with us. Blessings, Brandon and Karin Thomas ...and the MIGHTY 7
