Moving Expenses for Asylum Family

My name is Jack O'Brien and I am part of a team of Philadelphia-based lawyers that has been helping a family obtain asylum in the United States since February 2016 as our pro bono clients.  They originally came to the U.S. because their youngest daughter needed expert medical treatment to combat a rare form of optical cancer that took both of her eyes. Because their country, Syria, has been torn apart by civil war, they have no longer have a permanent home to which they can return. The mother and four children were permanently relocated to Pennsylvania earlier this year, but the dad remained in the Middle East while his paperwork was finalized. Now he has been cleared to move to the U.S. and is in the process of packing up all of the family's remaining belongings and shipping them to the U.S. This will cost approximately $8,000 (for packing and shipping expenses to engage a professional moving company), so this campaign is designed to try and help the family with these costs, which are significant and beyond what they can afford. If we raise extra money, it will go toward the children's education in the U.S.  I will personally handle the delivery of funds to the family and can assure you that 100% of the amount raised (net of GoFundMe processing fees) will go to the family.  We will close the campaign around July 8th or 9th, at which time the funds will either be wired to the family or wired to the moving company directly.
