Help Me Do my Love Work...

I'd like to share with you all, one of my dreams that manifested and to kindly ask for your support in helping me to fuel this journey. I am happy to proclaim I'm in the driver seat and making all the right turns to stay on this path, but I'm looking at the arrow on my gas meter, and, unfortunately it's not moving out of the red zone. At this point, I'm sure you can guess where this is going. I would like to ask for your support in helping me to keep this engine running. But first, please allow me to explain.
Many know me as an actor in pursuit of a career in the theater. While I still hold sacred this art, my artistic soul yearns for more. It yearns to tell stories in a way I have not been afforded within the walls of conventional theater. I've had wonderful opportunities to give voice and talent to collaborative non-conventional theater, however, I am still craving something more. In conclusion, I must create my own work, from the ground up. I must continue to tell stories and release my truest self through my own performance creations.
The time has come for me to be fearless and bold in this movement. This coming August 25th and 26th, I will be presenting for the first time ever, a large scale solo body of work in the medium of performance art at SOMArts Night Light: Divine Revolution, a multimedia and performance festival  in conjunction with The Black Woman is God.
I am calling this piece Movement Medicine Heal(H)er Prayer. It focuses on the concept that in order to heal generational wounds as well as planet and people, we must begin with our own healing. When we take responsibility for our healing journeys, we radiate a light that cannot be shut out nor dimmed. A revolutionary light that I believe, is our greatest weapon in the fight against social and environmental injustice. A light so bright, it will blind the enemy and pierce through patriarchal and capitalist entities that aim to keep us from moving steadily in our power. This is a light born of self, to nurture self, to protect self and to preserve self. So, in the name of divine revolution, I will be shining my light brightly in the sharing of a four hour long performative prayer, in which I'll be praying for my continued healing in this life journey.
Preparation leading up to this performance has been and will continue to be extremely deep and exhaustive work, physically, mentally and spiritually. It would be ideal to do this work without what I refer to as the greatest weapon of mass distraction, the (temporary) day job, of which so many artists, including myself, become slaves to because our art has not YET provided us financial stability. So, i'm reaching out in hopes that you may be able to contribute to this exciting and revolutionary new chapter in my life. I'm seeking to raise $4000. This will cover the cost of basic monthly expenses while out of work for the month of August (food, rent, etc.), transportation expenses, rehearsal space, costumes, props, materials and set pieces, and payment to artists contributing to the performance.
Your contribution will help to bring this performance into fruition, as well as be an igniting force in further artistic developments. Last but not least, your contribution will help me in fulfilling my artist mission: to create theater, dance and visual art that aims to challenge the human spirit and open doors to magnificent possibilities.
