Ciao!

Siamo Marta e Camilla, due ragazze che durante un viaggio a Zanzibar hanno avuto la fortuna di scoprire una realtà straordinaria: Move Zanzibar. Si tratta di una comunità, situata nella parte sud-est dell’isola, dove attualmente vivono 25 persone tra cui madri, adolescenti e bambini. È una comunità che ha come obiettivo quello di ispirare ed educare la nuova generazione attraverso il movimento e la disciplina per aiutarla a non cadere in situazioni sbagliate.

Gli adolescenti che vivono lì sono dei giovani talenti ( ballerini di danze tradizionali, acrobati, musicisti, contorsionisti,equilibristi e fire artists) che si esibiscono nei resorts locali per garantirsi i beni primari. Ma dietro la magia degli spettacoli ci sono sacrifici e grandi difficoltà: vivono in camerate condivise, con spazi comuni ridotti e condizioni igienico-sanitarie molto precarie.

Move Zanzibar è una comunità aperta a chiunque voglia farne parte e il suo obiettivo è investire nella nuova generazione, aiutando ogni giovane a scoprire il proprio talento e a costruirsi un futuro dignitoso.

Gli obiettivi principali di questa raccolta fondi sono:

1. L’acquisto di nuovi tamburi, fondamentali per gli show: gli strumenti attuali sono rotti e compromettono la qualità delle performance.

Dato che il loro sostentamento dipende da queste esibizioni, e siamo in alta stagione, questa è una priorità.

2. Microfoni e casse: I ragazzi si allenano ogni giorno, ma spesso non hanno accesso alla musica perché devono chiedere in prestito l’attrezzatura ai resort. Quando non è disponibile, sono costretti a rimandare le prove.

3. Migliorare le condizioni igieniche interne: attualmente c’è un solo WC e una doccia per 25 persone. Vorremmo aiutarli a migliorare i bagni e, se possibile, costruire una piccola cucina comunitaria, per non dover usare i pochi soldi guadagnati per comprare cibo fuori.

Anche una piccola donazione può fare la differenza.

We are Marta and Camilla, two girls who, during a trip to Zanzibar, had the chance to discover an extraordinary reality: Move Zanzibar.

This is a community located in the southeast part of the island, currently home to 25 people, including mothers, teenagers, and children.

Move Zanzibar's mission is to inspire and educate the new generation through movement and discipline, helping them stay away from harmful situations and build a better future.

The teenagers living there are incredibly talented — traditional dancers, acrobats, musicians, contortionists, tightrope walkers, and fire artists.

They perform in local resorts to earn just enough for basic necessities.

But behind the magic of the shows, there are many sacrifices and daily struggles: they sleep in shared rooms, with very little communal space and extremely poor sanitary conditions.

Move Zanzibar is an open community, welcoming anyone who wants to join and grow. Its purpose is to invest in the youth, helping each of them discover their own talent and potential.

The main goals of this fundraiser are:

1. To buy new drums

Drums are essential for the performances, but the current instruments are damaged, affecting the quality of the shows.

Since their livelihood depends on these performances — and it's currently high season — this is a top priority.

2. To provide microphones and speakers

The artists practice daily, but often don’t have access to music because they have to borrow equipment from local resorts. When it's unavailable, they’re forced to postpone the rehearsala.

3. To improve internal sanitary conditions

There is only one toilet and one shower for 25 people.

We would like to help them renovate the bathroom and, if possible, build a small kitchen, so they don’t have to spend their limited earnings on meals.

Even a small donation can make a big difference.
