Move Mountains for Pati

Donation protected
Our campaign benefits Pati Quigley-Daggitt, who was in a scooter accident on Thursday, October 19, 2017, while driving to work.

Pati has always been a hard worker, starting at age 14 when she pulled weeds for 8 hours a day in the hot sun for a local garden, she of course rode her bike there and back every day.  Ever since then, she has worked hard, with hardly a time when she didn’t work.

Pati is such a loving soul, who is always there for those in need.  Pati is in need now, and we hope you can help out.  Every little bit helps!  If you can’t contribute financially, please help spread the word by sharing this as much as you can.

Injuries

She is lucky to be alive.

The left side of Pati’s body took the majority of the impact, resulting in a critical leg injury that may require multiple surgeries/skin grafts, breaks to her neck, back and foot, lacerations to her head including eye socket issues, cracked ribs and additional cuts and bruises.

Pati has had several surgeries and her condition is slowly improving. There is daily progress and a bit of her comes back every day.

Some things don’t change

She still has her sense of humor – says the stitches look like caterpillars!

When the surgeon gave her information she didn’t want to hear, she asked her surgeon, “Did you graduate at the top of your class?  We should get a second opinion.”

And to her family, “You should go home now and get some rest.  I’ll be fine.”  She is always looking out after others.

The future

Pati faces a long road to recovery.  It’s unknown how long she will remain in the hospital.  Once released from the hospital, she will need extensive and intense rehab. Once rehab is complete, it’s unknown how long it will take for her to recover and get back to the new normal.

What is known is that the future is going to include many costs.

The first expense is to help Pati  pay for repairs to the car she collided with.

Pati has medical insurance for her injuries, but many other costs will add up.  Currently, we cannot know all of the expenses she will incur, but we do know that there will be unforeseen costs that will be necessary for her recovery.

And for her Post Office friends…

Pati’s medical insurance lasts only as long as she’s “working”.  She has some sick days and vacation, but it will be used up fairly quickly.  Once her hours are used up, she will lose her medical insurance.

Since post office workers can “donate” sick/vacation time to co-workers, please consider donating some for Pati.  That would be such a precious gift that can’t be repaid.

Final thank you from her family
Thank you for taking the time to read through our fundraising summary. We love Pati beyond measure. She is the glue of our family. It has been very difficult without her in our daily lives and we hope this site can help support her recovery.

Thank you again,
Pati’s Family
