Move Mountains for Ash

What Happened
On Thursday 3rd January 2019 Ash (30) was enjoying what he loved most – a sunny day in the water with his former fiance. Tragically, Ash was badly injured while in the water, breaking his neck and damaging his spinal cord. Thanks to the kindness and quick thinking of four complete strangers, Ash is here with us today. Ash was airlifted to Sydney, where he received emergency surgery with the aim to realign his spine. Although the surgery went well, this experience has left Ash without feeling or movement below his chest. Only four days since the accident Ash is breathing on his own and has gained sensation and some movement in his arms. The doctors have expressed their concerns that these injuries may be permanent but with Ash’s determination and his family’s love we are very hopeful.

The Back-Story
For those of you who don’t know Ash Treseder, he is a bloody legend! His sense of humour constantly has everyone laughing. Ash’s playful nature and kindness extends to everyone he meets, as well as being a big hit with the children. These qualities shine through in his work, as a disability support carer. His clients, who have become his friends, adore Ash and his endless generosity. He is a man of many talents and is highly respected by all his colleagues in his successful role as a Private Investigator. Ash loves the outdoors, and spends his time playing sport, going on adventures with his friends, or simply taking his dogs for a walk.

What Next
It is now a painstaking waiting game to see how he fares over the coming weeks and months as he recovers from this traumatic incident. Ash may never walk again, but not even this has managed to dampen his spirits. There are still many unknowns about Ash’s road ahead. Average first year expense for a Spinal Cord Injury is estimated to be $500,000 and upwards of $2 million across a lifetime. Funds raised will be directly used for Ash’s ongoing medical expenses, necessary equipment (i.e. wheelchair, electric beds, other in-home aids), home and vehicle modifications.

How You Can Help
Ash’s vibrant personality is contagious, and we will do everything in our power to support him on this uphill battle, every step of the way. We’re asking for you to do the same. As his family and friends, we ask for any donation no matter how big or little to help Ash in this next chapter of his life. Our aim is to raise as much money as we can to be used for his recovery and ongoing medical expenses.
