Mouritz’s Halo Needs Your Help!

Donation protected

The 'Ballroom Blitz" is a bit broken at the moment and he will be for quite some time with at least 3 to 6 months off work after an already financially devastating first half of the year thanks to COVID19.

For the past month or so Steve Mouritz had been working all hours including weekends at Joondalup Motorcycles to get all the jobs out  that were required for customers to finally start their 2020 race season.

Last Saturday Steve and his son Riley were riding the pony express event in Brookton.

Steve’s prologue ended the weekend and so much more, an accident causing Steve to break his neck .

There were no helivac's available and Steve finally arrived, by road in an ambulance, to Royal Perth Hospital's Trauma Unit at 4 am the following morning .

Steve was assessed, the prognosis was devastating but they were also relieved at the same time. Steve will recover fully however his rehabilitation was going to take some time .
He has fractured his C2 and will be in a Halo for a minimum of three months.

The superman of the sport we all love is broken. He will not be able to return to work at his beloved business for at least 4 to 6 months, therefore the business will need to close during this time.

Steve and Kym never ask for help, in actual fact, as most of you are aware they help everyone else before themselves. They have helped so many families off and on the track in every discipline of motorcycling for over three decades and have dedicated their life to the sport, the friends and loyal customers that it has brought along the way.

Hanging out with the Mouritz clan is the highlight of any event, their genuine warmth, friendship and loyalty is extended to everyone and their unfiltered wicked sense of humour stays with you for days after.

So a few of us have come together, with the permission of Kym, to ask for the Motorcycling community to please give back to a family that need it more than ever right now.

Think of every moment Steve has stopped by and ‘just fixed' something for you, given you advise, squeezed in that 'little job' the day before race day or even when their family has extended genuine positivity and encouragement to your family.

At the moment the family is understandably devastated and wish to thank you for all your kind thoughts and well wishes. they really appreciate everyone being worried but they have come through the first worst part-the next part is to get Steve home and to keep his mind from worrying.

This Go Fund Me page has been started to help alleviate some financial pressure so Steve can take the time to recover.

Anything and everything will go a long way-when the going gets tough the tough get going-when they can’t get going it’s time for those who have been helped to help.

The Motorcycling community is a family-lets show this family exactly how much they mean to us.

Thanking you all in advance,
Linda Russell, Jo Miragliotta and Tyson Smith
