<div>The Community Playground, which will form part of the Community Centre Complex,
</div>
<div>was identified as a priority project by our group. We are delighted to have secured a
</div>
<div>site from Mountcollins GAA and have also obtained full planning permission for the
</div>
<div>development of the playground from Limerick County Council ref No: 23/550. The
</div>
<div>location of which is beside the community centre and GAA field. The playground has
</div>
<div>been designed with the principles of sustainability and inclusivity at will be a huge
</div>
<div>addition to the Village.
</div>
<div>It will require funding to bring this project to fruition at a cost of approx.€230,000. We
</div>
<div>will get help from both Limerick County Council and Government initiatives. The first
</div>
<div>of which is a Leader grant of €122,000 which we are delighted to confirm is secured.
</div>
<div>However, locally we will have to raise our own funds in the region of €50,000 to
</div>
<div>support further grant applications and to get the project started in 2026.

<div>Project Development
</div>
<div>In order to make the project funding more attainable and to address the immediate
</div>
<div>need for a playground facility in our community, the piecemeal nature of obtaining
</div>
<div>grants, a phased approach is being taken;
</div>
<div>Phase 1 of the Project is planned to be delivered by August 2026. This will
</div>
<div>comprise an all-weather facility at the western end, accessing from the public
</div>
<div>footpath and will provide a mix of junior and senior equipment in newly
</div>
<div>landscaped surroundings. Sensory points including planting and animal features will also be provided, while nature-based elements including bat
</div>
<div>boxes and bird roosts will support biodiversity.
</div>
<div>Phase 2 – will extend to connect to the GAA grounds, with an additional rear
</div>
<div>entrance. This phase will utilise the gradient of the site to create a nature-
</div>
<div>based play area for summer use and will include climbing walls and slides
</div>
<div>along with other sustainable features.
</div>
<div>We are counting on you to help us reach this target of €50,000 by donating as
</div>
<div>generously as possible and by encouraging your friends /networks to do same. We
</div>
<div>appreciate any donation from home, from our diaspora abroad and from everyone no
</div>
<div>matter how big or small. 
</div>
<div>We also plan to establish other sponsorship opportunities in the near future,

<div>including Buy-a-Brick and funding of individual equipment elements.
