Mountain Explorer needs your help!

The Bethel-Sunday River Mountain Explorer seasonal bus was founded in 2001 to provide free, safe and reliable transportation to all ages, reduce traffic and pollution and support the local economy. The Mountain Explorer is a project of the State of Maine Department of Transportation's seasonal Explorer bus program. While Maine DOT provides much of the funding, the towns of Bethel and Newry, Sunday River, Gould Academy, the Bethel Inn Resort and other area businesses have also been faithful contributors. Even with this support, the Mountain Explorer requires an additional $50,000 each year from other sources to stay in operation.

That's where you come in!

We need your support to be able to continue to offer this convenient, safe and eco friendly form of transportation for visiting guests and locals to access our recreation, lodging, dining, & nightlife establishments. Every little bit helps!
