Mountain Sprouts is a private, not-for-profit preschool in the heart of Telluride, Colorado serving children ages 3-5. We provide a holistic, nurturing environment and curriculum structured to nurture the whole child. Through hands-on learning and sensory experiences, we're laying the foundation for future learning and intellectual and social development.
WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL UNIQUE?
- Emergent curriculum follows interests of our children. Kindergarten readiness skills are layered into project-based work in a way that engages them and creates a lifelong love of learning.
- Our location, focus on appreciation of the natural world, and small class size allows us to take many hikes and participate in our community outside the classroom
- A focus on social-emotional education helps our smallest community members learn to problem solve, develop empathy, and understand their role in world at large.
WHY SUPPORT OUR PRESCHOOL?
As a small, independent non-profit every little bit helps! By sponsoring a classroom item or need, we are able to focus on our classroom experience, compensation for teachers and administration, and paying general operating costs.
Grants and fundraisers like this make up the majority of our operating dollars. Small donations add up to us being able to continue offering a high-quality alternative preschool option for the children of our community. Updating our materials and keeping our space safe and clean and full of fun and wonder is the goal!
Here are some examples of how the amount of your donation could enhance our school and support our students in their exploration of the world around them*:

$45 -- Updated Indoor or Outdoor Sensory Play Materials
$50 -- Boot Dryer for after winter playtime
$60 -- 3 Paint Jugs for Art Projects
$75 -- Clothes Tree for drying our winter attire
$90 -- 5 hours of immersive Spanish language instruction
$100 -- Waldorf Inspired Play Food (Wood or Felt)
$125 -- Contribution to outdoor yard improvements, fence/lawn maintenance
$150 -- Visit from Specialists (Science, Arts, Food, Movement)
$180 -- 10 hours of immersive Spanish language instruction
$225 -- Contribution to general operating costs
$500 -- Contribution to general operating costs as needed
$1000 -- Contribution to outdoor play equipment upgrades
$1500 -- New, child-height cubbies
