My name is Denise Sheehan, spiritual entrepreneur in our local Northern Nevada area for over a decade, providing support for Dahlahk Pahtahlngee (Mountain Eagle) who shares with you today:
“My Name is Mountain Eagle. I am from the First Nations here in North America. Washeshu is what we call ourselves, which translates as "All the People." This includes land, air, water, animal, human and those other untold entities. In my life, I learned many things from “All the People,” Nature as my teacher. I witnessed and remembered the songs and stories of my Elders and Ancestors. My life has been shaped by the both the hardship and beauty of my People. I returned into this life, after a long sleep from earth, protecting the medicine of my People. I bring you all a practices that many humans have forgotten, that connect each and every one of us to the source of creation. We are given life in the image of the creator, which is full of love, respect, honor, courage and compassion. Through ceremony, we may add our energies and intentions to an electromagnetic wave, which surrounds the earth so that healing can begin. I have come to honor you, my Brothers & Sisters, by offering you a custom from the Washeshu, sharing myself in this way with each and every person who wishes to be a good caretaker, manager, and listener.” (www.dahlahk.com)
This is a fundraiser to establish and build Mountain Eagle School on designated allotment lands for the Washo Tribe. Our mission is to support healing and education to help people to Return to the Circle of Life & Return to the Heart
As part of this mission, we teach and support students in learning to be in silence and to access the voice of Spirit. We help students to incorporate healing ways and spiritual practices in day-to-day life. Indigenous practices take us beyond the confines of modern-day capitalism, where we can reconnect with the values that have existed since time immemorial in the Americas – honoring of all beings, of nature, of supportive familial living, of harmony and love, and so much more.
Mountain Eagle School provides training and services for individuals, families, groups and communities to connect deeply with the spirit of the land. Educational services will be provided on traditional ceremonies such as: round dance, sacred songs, tobacco offering ceremony, and pine nut ceremony. Educational services will be provided for cultural story-telling, arrow-head chipping, beading, leather work, hide tanning, sustainable gardening, rites of passage, vision quest, and other indigenous cultural and spiritual practices. We will also be accepting applications for community events, such as weddings, gatherings and other celebrations.
We currently have unimproved camping sites for tents and RVs, which will be expanded for water, firepits, cooking and toilets in the future.
Here's what we need to get started:
$1000 to set up organizational structures, such as advisory council meetings, licensing, accountability and reporting
$800 for new logo, domain address, and website
$5000 for concrete foundation for round-house training center
Future needs (estimates pending):
Lumber, strawbales, windows and other construction materials for round-house
Portable and handicap accessible restroom units
RV for outreach training events
In addition, we are open to volunteers for advisory council/board, web/branding/marketing services, construction and other developmental operations.
We will provide updates on our progress on this page regularly, along with invitations to join us at the school and check out our progress for yourself.
No donation is too big or small. Thank you so much for your support of Mountain Eagle School. Soon we will celebrate in ceremony, in family. We welcome you…
