Thank you so much for visiting this page, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones and that the New Year brings you all peace, happiness, and health. As some of you all know I have been working with the Mother Maryam Organization for almost 12 years now and have been a proud board member for almost 5. This beautiful foundation brings education and health care to areas in Northern Sudan. Since 1998 the foundation has raised money for teacher salaries and school supplies to provide education in an area where finding a piece of paper is a struggle. In 2004 I joined the organization and was able to donate nearly 50 boxes of school supplies. The project was now my passion. Later on, we raised enough funds through visiting rotary clubs and asking for donations to help repair a middle school. In 2007 with the help of the Rotary club of Khartoum and Westlake we were able to deliver 281 wheel chairs to disabled Sudanese people of all ages.
This foundation quickly became one of the most important aspects of my life. Each day I wake up with a roof over my head, clean water to drink, and doctors to visit if I become sick. Unfortunately these benefits are not present in many people’s lives across the world. I ask that in this time of giving that you may consider donating to our cause. In 2011 we opened a health clinic that is able to serve nearly 180 people each month and has hosted many doctors who travel about to provide medical care. The clinic provides preventative care and vaccinations. It treats malaria, eye disease, dysentery, and pneumonia. It also provides aid for those who suffer from asthma, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, and heart conditions. In recent years we were able to get an ambulance for transportation of people to the clinic or larger hospitals in the city. However, these operating costs are great. Any donation big or small would be so appreciated. A small donation of $3 would provide one life changing cholera or malaria vaccination, $5 provides a mosquito net to help reduce malaria outbreaks, less than $200 would provide the necessary costs for running the ambulance for three months, and $642 would give a working salary for a resident doctor, nurse, midwife, ambulance driver, lab technician, assistant, pharmacist, and cleaner.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I appreciate all the support I have received since I was 8 years old and starting my journey with this project. It has been such an honor to speak across the world on this issue that I hold so close to my heart.
