Hello, my name is Michelle, and two months ago, I was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma of my right breast and my lymph nodes. Dec 3rd, I had a bilateral masectomy. I start chemo mid-January and radiation shortly after that, then follow reconstructive surgery.
Asking for help like this is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, close second and third ... the cancer and raising 4 strong daughters.
My 22 year old daughter is the only one working and doing her best while over whelmed in dealing with my diagnosis and helping take care of me as well as working and trying to pay all of our bills all while having to deal with her own things. She has been soooo strong....but I know she is struggling. Seeing our roles reversed has completely humbled me. We have a great emotional support system in place, from friends, family, and health care team, and are so immensely thankful for that.
However, we are struggling financially, and that is why I am reaching out for help.
I have sat down with our budget and canceled anything that is not necessary. We are literally down to the bare essentials rent, utilities, and food. We are good this month. But next month we will be short and every month after that until I can go back to work.
Unfortunately, this process is going to take about a year and a half. And I will not be working for at least 6 months of that time. I am trying to do what I can to help support my daughter through that time while she supports me.
We appreciate any and all help and always welcome prayers and good vibes!!!
