<div>I am starting a go fund me page for my very close friend of 24 years, Lauren, who is a devoted wife and loving mum of 5, if it wasn’t for her new addition to the family being born Lauren wouldn’t of have even been aware of her breast cancer Leaving a petrifying realisation 
</div>
<div>As she fights this illness, one of her biggest concerns is making sure her family is supported through whatever comes next; emotionally, physically and financially.
</div>

<div>Luckily she works on maternity, so was able to notice the signs things weren’t right when breast feeding her baby.
</div>

</div>
<div>Due to her always being such a giving person always there for everyone, never complains about what she is going through, is one of the strongest people I know, I now want to give back to her with help from the kindest people out there to raise money for her to get a wig and help her cover some of the cost her and her husband are struggling with, as she has gone from maternity leave to being signed off sick and her husband has had to take time off work to care for her and the children.

<div>What she thought would be a magical time off had turned into a living nightmare. 
</div>

<div>On the 12 of September Lauren was diagnosed with breast cancer.
</div>
<div>The mammograms and ultrasounds all showed it as DCIS, stage 0 breast cancer. Unfortunately the only way to remove it was to have a masectomy, which she was happy to have; so on the 17th October 2025 the day after her Birthday. Lauren had the surgery to remove her right breast. Along with the removal of her lymph nodes.

<div>It was a long 4 weeks until she received her results, then on the 14th of November that day finally came.
</div>

<div>Lauren was told that the cancer has not spread to her lymph nodes; upon receiving this news she burst into tears with relief as she thought fantastic, she can have the chance to watch her baby’s grow up. 
</div>

</div>
<div>Unfortunately they then went on to inform her, she didn’t just have stage 0 breast cancer, that’s when the bomb was dropped. Lauren was told she had a cancerous tumour growing in her breast of 38mm. 
</div>
<div>Which also was a  shock to the medical team as this had not shown in any previous tests. 
</div>

<div>As far as the doctors know they have managed to remove all the cancer. 
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Still due to this diagnosis and the strain of the cancer, Lauren now has to undergo 2 different type of chemotherapy, the first one every 3 weeks which is 4 rounds, the second another 4 rounds weekly, along with that another drug she has to continue to take for a year, Trastuzumab  which is a preventative drug. 
</div>

<div>All these combined are to stop the cancer spreading and also to kill of any cells which could have gone rogue in her blood stream. 
</div>

<div>When the treatment is all completed that’s not the end. Lauren then has to undergo more surgery to have her left breast removed.
</div>

<div>Lauren’s already been told she will lose her hair, eyebrows, lashes and the rest. Which is why I’d love for her to be able to have some money towards getting a wig. The wigs alone for a decent one to last her the next few years are priced around £800-£1,100,00.
</div>

<div>If anything extra to go towards making her children’s Christmas as special as it can be during this horrific time in their lives. 
</div>
<div>They are struggling a lot as her Husband has had to take time off to care for Lauren along side the children. Funds are extremely tight. 
</div>

<div>So that’s her story so far, hoping you find it in your hearts to even give the smallest amount to help her and her beautiful children. Especially at Christmas.
