Mother Fighting Cancer needs your help

Hello, my name is Tessa.

At the beginning of 2020, I traveled to Bali with the hopes of starting a business working alongside people in developing countries. On my travels, I met many amazing families that I will never forget. Not only did Bali’s people have a great impact on me, but also its environment, which continuously made me realise how privileged we all are. If you are able to read this: I am talking to you. When COVID-19 hit, my travels were put on pause and I had to say goodbye to many of the incredible people who I had become so close to.

On my journey, I met a extraordinary man named Muhammad Yasir. Muhammad worked at the Love Anchor markets in Canggu, selling seashell bracelets and other homemade knick-knacks alongside a family member. From the moment I met him at these markets, he was warm and welcoming to me. He offered to help me gather content for my business endeavours. After working long days, Muhammad would meet with me to show me how and where the products from the markets were being made. The conditions were extremely eye-opening. One night, Muhammad took me back to his family home where I met his wife, daughter and mother. His mother was named Bunaria. She was a bright, happy, and accommodating woman who made me feel so welcome. Bunaria made the seashell bracelets to sell at the markets and showed me that night how to make them.

On November 26th, I received the devastating news that Bunaria had been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour and needs treatment as soon as possible. Like many families around the world, Muhammad’s business relies solely on the tourism industry. With sales at an all time low due to COVID-19, the treatment that Bunaria needs is financially absolutely out of reach. Therefore, Muhammad has contacted me to see what I can do.

Bunaria’s treatment costs $15 million rupiah, which is about $1500 AUD/NZD. My first goal is to reach $1500 so that Bunaria may receive the medical help she so desperately needs. If we reach this, it would be amazing to raise another $1000 so that Muhammad and his family need not worry about working and living costs while Bunaria goes through treatment. All I want is for Bunaria to have her family alongside her every step of the way.

Please considering donating to this urgent and important cause. What may seem like a little amount to us will go an extremely long way for both Bunaria and Muhammad. Together we can make a difference to a family who really needs it. Together, we can change Bunaria’s life for the better.

Thank you for your time,
Tessa
