My name is Catherine Donimari. I would like to share a story with you about a wonderful mom and daughter team that are facing some challenging times.
I met Jake, Brittany and Peyton in February of 2019 when they became customers of mine. I learned that in October of 2018, their daughter Peyton had just been diagnosed with Adrenal Cancer. After several months of intense treatment, she went into remission and I was blessed to be able to be a part of her Gong ceremony celebration at the children's hospital.
Peyton has had numerous scans since her remission that came back clear. Unfortunately, on her last scan they discovered one large tumor on her adrenal gland, 3 tumors in one lung, 2 on the other lung and 2 on her hip bone. St. Judes was able to take her in immediately and she has since had surgeries to remove all tumors. On her way to a chest x-ray to confirm her lungs inflated properly, Peyton had stated she was feeling weird. They ran into a friend of hers who noticed one of her pupils was abnormally large and the other was very small. They took her for an MRI immediately and discovered 3 more tumors on her brain. One very small one, the second 1 cm and the third 2.5 cm, which is the tumor that is pushing on her optic nerve. They are no longer able to continue treatment at St Judes. They have headed home and are currently working with her oncologist in hopes for an effective treatment.
It gets worse...
In the midst of all of this, Peyton's mom Brittany was not able to be with her daughter during this unimaginable time. She was informed herself that she has breast cancer will be having a double mastectomy on October 17th.
