On March 30, Brittany gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Prim. However, complications of this pregnancy and delivery brought both mom and baby into the ICU.
Brittany’s pregnancy became high risk when she developed a placenta accreta. Due to the severity of this condition, Prim had to be born 6 weeks early. Shortly after Prim was delivered, Brittany underwent surgery for the placenta accreta when the complications began. Brittany suffered an amniotic fluid embolism and was placed on life support. As she began to recover from this, she developed a pulmonary embolism.
Brittany spent nearly 2 weeks in the hospital and is now recovering at her in-laws home. Prim was in ICU for a week and then moved to special care. She is finally strong enough to be released from the hospital today. Brittany and Prim will have numerous doctor appointments as they continue to improve.
Brittany and Josh have a long road to recovery. We want to ease the financial burden on this family so they can focus on healing and taking care for their 3 year old and newborn baby.
