Between donations on our website, customer support, and loans, we are doing well. While we have shorter hours and less staff, we are selling lots of books, supporting our recovery groups (as they continue to support us) and are dealing with Covid-19 daily.
At this time, we are going to close our GoFundMe. Thank you to those who donated. You will never know how much this helped us when we needed it.
During our 32 years as booksellers we have been serving our book loving community selling books of all genres, having author events, book clubs, and 12-Step recovery meetings in our store. We support the recovery community and counselors with books, anniversary medallions, and gift items. We have been work closely with literacy programs, such as Literacy Connects, Assistance League, and our local Rotary Club helping provide books to underserved schools in Tucson. We love being booksellers, selling books and talking about them with our community.
Since March 19th, 2020 we have been doing curbside pickup, delivery and online orders. However the income has not been enough to cover our payroll, rent and other expenses. We have applied for the SBA loans with the stimulus package but it may be too little too late. We are asking for immediate support as the months ahead look dire. We are unsure when we can fully open and while we continue to sell books we have a large inventory of books, cards and other items that are difficult to sell online, for delivery or even curbside.
Funds donated in the campaign will help us through this difficult time to keep us afloat so that we can reopen when we are allowed, but we have no idea when that will be. We hope all the amazing book people out there can help now and in the future with book purchases, gift cards, or audio books from Libro.Fm.
