Nothing Left but Each Other

As many of you have seen on the national news, a train carrying crude oil derailed in West Virginia on February 16th. This is such a tragedy for my family. My Grandmother Patty recently underwent a quadruple heart bypass and was finally released from the hospital last week. Lots of family has been visiting her at home, to include her youngest daughter who came from Ohio with her husband and two dear young children. Mawmaw Patty became very weak and was readmitted to the hospital on Saturday (Feb 14th) morning. Her daughter had to return to Ohio and my Grandfather Morris was making trips back and forth to the hospital. Monday, February 16th at 1:30, my grandfather was preparing to head back to the hospital when he heard a loud noise and looked out the window to see train cars on the track buckling. He ran from the house barefoot and barely escaped as the train cars carrying crude oil crashed through the house and exploded. Thank God he escaped with his life, and thank God Mawmaw Patty was in the hospital! She would have never have made it out alive in her condition. Also, thank God her daughter had returned to Ohio the night before! Needless to say, this is a horrible tragedy. They have nothing. Their home, their vehicle, all their worldly possessions are gone. Every photograph, every piece of their lives were destroyed. They have nothing, -not even a toothbrush! I am reaching out to help my Grandmother and Granfather make it through this hardship until my Mawmaw Patty recovers and they can start imagining a new future. They need everything: underwear, personal hygeine items, a purse/wallet, a vehicle! These are not wealthy folks. Thank you so much for your kindness!
