Morris Creedon-McVean - Please Help

When my dear wife of 40 years passed away in 2016, my physical health deteriorated simultaneously due to the stress and emotional isolation after the unexpected loss. I lost my ability to care for myself and my 65 year old intellectually disabled sister who also requires full time care. We have both suffered strokes in the last 2 years and she a broken femur. My son, Jason, has stepped in as her full time caregiver and she resides with him and his wife, but my own status has continued to deteriorate. Our economic situation continues to worsen and I recently faced foreclosure on my home. We had no choice but to sell off some of the few remaining family heirlooms and beg/borrow for money from others to barely scrape together over $7,000. We have now run out of options and ways to continue paying the piling debts and medical bills for myself and sister.  Not to mention the money a friend so generously extended in that last minute of crisis to save the house which needs to be paid back sooner rather than later. Three years after my wife’s death and I am still getting bills with her name on it.

The  best and most logical course of action is for me to move into an assisted living facility where my medical and basic needs can be more closely monitored. I have found a facility in Temple that I hope to move to but this continues to be pushed off until I can come up with the funds for a deposit, movers, and other logistical things. To make things even more difficult, Jason suffered a complete rupture of his right Achilles’ tendon that required surgery. It is a long, grueling recovery so he is unable to provide much physical assistance at the moment in packing, cleaning, or driving as he can barely walk right now.

This is a plea for help to the many friends we have made over the years. Every thing from economic donations to help with moving furniture, packing, and sorting through things in the house.

Life is chaotic right now for many people and if you can find it in your heart to provide ANY assistance  or by helping with tasks around the house I will be eternally grateful.
