Morning Moves and Evening Ease

Movement has been a part of my life from a very young age and remains the foundation of all of my work. Having worked as a dancer, teacher and choreographer since 1985 I continue to be inspired by the mediums of movement and touch, believing they offer an invigorating and intrinsic understanding of the world around us, as well as the world within. 

My particular fascination with how each individual discovers greater physical freedom and expression has always underscored my work, leading me to explore and experience a range of approaches.  Alongside my work as a dance artist, I am a Franklin Method® Educator, Certified Rolfer™, Rolf Movement™ practitioner and Scaravelli Yoga teacher. 

Morning Moves and Evening Ease Classes

Taking time to move mindfully can be one of the most effective ways to find more ease within your body. Experiencing and witnessing in others the resilience evoked once balance begins to arise...when adaptability and stability harmonise...never fails to amaze and inspire me. Your donations will support me to establish two weekly 45 minute online sessions offering gentle and accessible ways to: deepen the felt sense of how we are in each moment and the influence this has on how we move, explore simple ways to mobilise and differentiate through the body, experience our relationship to gravity and perception of the space around us, and embody a deeper understanding of our anatomy to support us within day to day life. Sessions will begin on Tuesday 27 October 2020.

Format of sessions
The sessions will be in a 'follow along' format, where I will be moving with you in real time and guiding you through each moment. Please note that I will not be giving any one to one feedback, so please ensure that you adapt what I offer to suit how you feel and what your body needs in order to feel safe and pain free.
You may join with your video on or off as you prefer. Wear comfortable clothing and I suggest bare feet or socks. Prepare and clear your space as much as possible and have a bottle of water to hand.

Times and Days
Morning Moves | Tuesdays 10-10.45am Primarily a session in standing and/or sitting that aims to mobilise and prepare us for the day ahead, but due to the nature of the work the invitations and propositions offered are for you to translate in the way that best suits you. These sessions focus on moving mindfully, with the aim of awakening the body in an easy way…finding the juicy-ness of our joints…using gravity to give us a lift.

Evening Ease | Thursdays 6.30-7.15pm Primarily lower to the ground lying down or sitting on the floor that aims to calm and settle us into gravity in readiness for the evening. Again due to the nature of the work the invitations and propositions offered are for you to translate in the way that best suits you. These sessions aim to soothe the nervous system…and ease out areas of strain or tension as you settle into the support of the floor more softly. 

Sessions will begin Tuesday 27 October 2020.

Practical Details
Each session must be booked so I can send you zoom details, but can be on a drop-in basis so that you know that you are welcome to join whenever you wish. Get in touch to find out more or to book a slot.

The sessions will be on a donation basis to remain responsive to our changing financial circumstances during this time. In return I hope that you will consider donating what you feel you can afford to help me continue to run them, with a suggested amount between £3 and £10. However, if that is simply not possible please don’t let that deter you from joining.
