Before leaving, Morion had her own home, transportation, and ran a small business in addition to contributing art and service to the community.. Morion went in with no certifications and is now leaving with a plethora of certifications, skills, and accolades and is ready to rebuild her life and display the resilience and power that she has always stood strong in.
The barriers to re-entry, and barriers in general for Black Trans people are immense, let alone entrepreneurs and creatives . We are asking for funds to help bring Morion's dreams and suitability to fruition.
With these funds she plans to:
FInish payments for certifications certifications she received. (Education)
Materials (clothing, transportation, etc.) required to obtain an entry level job in the welding industry
Secure safe housing , transportation, and basic necessities
Launch her own creative endeavors ( film and performance projects)
Support other Trans women navigating the same world as she
Anything helps, even a share! Morion gives so much joy and care to the community, so its time for us to give it back!
Now is the time, invest in Black Trans Futures!
