Morgan’s Journey to Beat Brain Cancer!

Donation protected
On November 16, 2019 Morgan Meggait was brought into the Vernon ER by her mom, Karen and soon later joined by her dad, Gordie and sister Sarina.  Many tests later a tumour was discovered in her brain on her pineal gland, and it was putting pressure on her spinal cord.  Morgan with Karen were airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital. Then Gord and Sarina drove down.  The doctors did a laparoscopy to relieve pressure and to also retrieve a biopsy. This later determined the diagnosis of Pinealoblastoma, a malignant, very aggressive brain tumour  that typically occurs in young children.  On Tuesday, December 3rd Morgan went in for surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible, the doctors were able to remove 80% of it. Her family was so thankful to see once she woke she was alert and able to move.  Now its time for recovery and for her to gain strength before chemo and radiation start in the New Year. Morgan is a loving, energetic 23year old with strength and fire in her.   Family and friends are ready to do whatever is necessary to help her win this battle and live the full and beautiful life she so deserves.  I started this gofundme to take some financial burden off the Meggait family.
There will need to be many changes to help with Morgan’s future.  Treatments, transportation from Armstrong to the Kelowna and Vancouver hospitals,  appointments and therapies are just some of the needs that the funds will help pay for.
I set the bar high on the financial goal but anything big or small will help this family who are loved and appreciated by so many.
