More Life for Mindy

Hello everyone - For those of you who do not know me, my name is Kari. Mindy is my cousin by blood, but my big sister by heart. I am writing this for her.

Mindy is a force of nature. She emanates a contagious energy wherever she goes and loves animals (any animal that doesn't love her back soon will). She goes out of her way to help everyone and is forever placing herself last. Min is not the sort of person who will ask for help, no matter how much she may need it. On her behalf, I am asking for your help. Please read below and consider offering your support. All funds raised by this campaign will be withdrawn directly by Mindy to pay medical and living expenses as she is treated for metastatic breast cancer.

Just before her birthday in 2016, Mindy was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two months after beginning chemo, her mother suffered an irreversible brain injury.  Out of necessity, Min continued to work throughout chemo and radiation treatments. Mindy has an inner strength that most people can only hope for and only cancer warriors will truly understand. Six months ago, her scan came back clean. She is a breast cancer survivor. 

Last month Min caught pneumonia. Despite several courses of antibiotics,  it would not go away. When she was admitted to hospital, the doctors found masses on her left lung. Further test results showed that the breast cancer had metastasized, spreading to her lung, liver, and vertebrae. Metastatic breast cancer is the most advanced stage of breast cancer, a diagnosis she received on her birthday this year.

There is so much stress, fear, and sadness for Mindy and all of those who care about her. This page is set up for contributions to help with the financial stress associated with this situation. Min is unable to work and has a number of medical bills from the hospital stays, procedures, and tests performed since the beginning of the year. Unfortunately there are still medical bills from her year-long battle with breast cancer two years ago. Min also has a very high monthly insurance bill and ongoing medical expenses for chemotherapy beginning next week.
