Moon's Eye Surgery

Donation protected
Moon Steinmann needs our help.
In the aftermath of her cornea transplant, Moon needs another eye surgery -- which will not be done until her insurance policy $5,650 deductible is met.  We aim to raise that amount in the next 30 days so Moon can have her surgery on September 11th. Thanks for your contribution.

Here, in her own words, is Moon's story.

"In April 2016 I had to go to the emergency room at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami with a very sick right eye.  After six weeks of almost daily trips to Miami, and almost complete blindness, with many doctors trying to identify the infection, it was determined that I would have to have an emergency cornea transplant in order to save my eye.
I had lost the vision in my left eye eight years earlier, so obviously the surgery was extremely important.  Fourteen months later, after making monthly trips to have stitches removed and the eye examined, my doctor feels now is the time to remove the large, dense cataract that formed after the transplant.
During this time I’ve had minimal vision and have been unable to drive, work or go alone to a store.  A total loss of independence.  Having this surgery gives me the possibility of regaining enough vision to get back some of my  my independence.
But my health insurance has a large deductible of $5250 and Bascom Palmer requires payment before surgery.  A surgery that will definitely give me some help."
