Monticello Rotary Club helps our neighbors

The Monticello Utah Rotary Club wants to help our friends and neighbors in the Red Mesa and Halchita Chapters of the Navajo Nation that have been severely impacted by COVID-19. Chapter leaders say they very much need jackets for men, women and children, masks, individual sanitizers, shaving lotion and razors, socks for men, women and children, water and food boxes. Our club has committed $500 to this effort, but we need to raise at least $3,500 more to buy the items above, as they are largely consumable supplies.

The Navajo Nation is continuing to experience an alarming rise in positive COVID-19 cases and uncontrolled spread in 75 communities across the Navajo Nation, including Red Mesa and Halchita.

A Stay at Home (Shelter in Place) Order is in effect for all residents of the Nation, requiring individuals to limit their movement within and outside of their immediate communities and to limit contact with individuals who are not in their immediate household until at least December 28th, 2020, with a likelihood it will continue. The Nation’s roads remain closed (except for state highways) to Visitors for the duration of the declared public health emergency, and Visitors are advised to refrain from traveling to the Navajo Nation, (but you may travel through it).

Please help us help them! Thanks very much for anything you can contribute.
