Monte Family Replacement Vehicle

46 years driving, never an accident. That all changed last Saturday.  I am 61 years of age, a single Father with two teenage daughters living on a single income.  We literally live paycheck to paycheck, with no savings possible.  Last Saturday returning from grocery shopping, 4 blocks from our apartment - another driver sitting in the left turn lane changed their mind and without warning pulled back out into oncoming traffic, No blinker, no signal, I don't evven think they looked. I was in the left lane.  I started to brake. The other driver started into the intersection - the light changed to yellow - and rather than go forward, the other driver hit the brakes and stopped partially in the intersection.  Our immediate challenge was that this driver eliminated our braking space.  I slammed on my brakes but had the turning cars on my left,  heavy traffic with cars on my right.  No where to go the skid began.  I immediately feared for my daughters safety - thank goodness they had their seatbelts on.  We slammed into this other driver who had a huge Ford Edge and I was driving my hero, my 1994 Hyundai Excel, my proud companion vehicle since 1995.  This vehicle has been faithful since before my two daughters were born.  It has always taken care of us all these years.  My vehicle was destroyed,totaled...there was very minor damage to the Edge, no dents, no scratches, just a little bumper damage.  We lost the only vehicle we own.  Barely surviving on my income, with no savings, we  have no way of replacing the vehicle.   I need to keep my daughters in school. One is half way to her Associates degree, the other a high school Senior this year - I vowed to see them through thier degrees so they have a chance at a better life than mine.  They are my world.  I need your help so I can immediately replace my destroyed vehicle with a reliable transportation used car.   I am seeking to spend around $5,000 or less.  I need the funds right away.  Just to get to work requires 1.5 hours by bus each way - that is not going to work.  Please help me provide for my daughters - it is about them and their continuing to grow and succeed.
