Monkey's Life-Saving Surgery

Meet Dukes (a.k.a. Monkey), he is almost 1.5 years old and needs your help. I adopted him after a shelter found him abandoned @ 3 weeks old in a Staple's parking lot. He was very sick and starving, but I was able to get him healthy & happy, until now.
For the last 2 months he has been having respiratory issues, made worse when he attempts to pur. He struggles to breath at times and gags when he tries to eat. I've taken Monkey to several vets and specialists, they've taken x-rays, blood work, etc. All with no resolution. Last week we visited the University of Minnesota, they believe he has a mass or polyp that has gotten large enough to impact his breathing and without removal it will continue to grow. The next step, where I need your help, is to sedate him for a CT scan. The plan is to pin-point the mass and while still sedated from the CT, they will take him straight to surgery in order to remove and biopsy the mass. Worst case scenario he will need a TECA (total ear canal abalation). In short, this is a procedure that removes the vertical and horizontal ear canals down to the level of the middle ear.
Currently, the estimated charges for this are roughly $5,500-6,500 dollars. I've already paid almost $1200 to get him to this stage. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Monkey is one of my two cats and both have been life-saving companions. If it were possible to get them designated as service animals - I would - as they have been a critical part of my life post service.
