Monica's Jewelry/Tools Replacement

Monica's jewelry studio replacement fund:

My daughter, Monica, a metalsmith and jewelry designer, reached for her dream career and launched Monica Simone Jewelry on Etsy last fall. Inspired by a year of study at the University of Washington's School of Architecture, her debut series features a line of metal pendants in the shapes of ancient sites throughout the world. Sadly, thieves recently entered her jewelry studio and stole thousands of dollars worth of precious metals, gemstones, tools, and finished pieces, including hand-blown glass, she intended to sell. She reported the theft to the police and to building management and has sought legal advice.

Monica produces inspired beauty in the world and has exhibited and won awards for her one-of-a-kind, hand-made art jewelry. She works very hard in her studio and also cares for plants in office buildings throughout the Seattle area to support herself while launching her business.

She aims to devote herself full-time to her jewelry business and has invested everything she has into building her new business. This theft dealt a serious set-back. The studio is in a rented space. She has no insurance on the studio. Her building manager is not accepting responsibility and Monica will need to pursue a lengthy legal process with an uncertain outcome to recoup her losses. Meanwhile, her bills are mounting and she is trying to keep her business going.

Monica estimates the losses to be upwards of $4,000. She is seeking $4,000 to replace lost materials so that she can get back to work in her jewelry studio, which she needs to do now.

A contribution in any amount will help this deserving young artist get back on her feet and continue to build her dream career.

Here is new incentive to contribute to Monica's jewelry studio replacement fund: With a contribution of $50 or more, you will receive an original watercolor painting by Monica! Help us get to our goal. Please donate in any amount today! Thank you!
