Money down for a new car

Hello my name is Katelyn, my family and I live in north Texas and we are asking for help with our car. We would like to put money down on a used car because our current vehicle is falling apart. Along with the cosmetic problems the engine and parts are to expensive to continue repairing. It's sitting in my jobs parking lot with a broken alternator.
