Monét Movement Productions: Relief Fund
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
My name is Makayla Peterson, Founder and Artistic Director of Monét Movement Productions: The Collective. I am a recent graduate of Temple University ('20) receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Digital Media Technologies.
Monét Movement Productions: The Collective, founded in May 2020 is a New York-based dance collective. Through dance and music, The Collective displays works that range in style from contemporary to Afro-Caribbean. All aspects of the artistic voice are embraced by honoring both tradition and innovation within dance. Sharing stories that are personal, social and/or cultural in nature represents the collective and the world around us. These dynamic stories are illustrated through boundless and robust movement. The versatility of the dancers is evident through their strong presence, power and passion. By cultivating artistry through innovative choreography, works are able to generate meaningful connections that provide captivating images for the dancers and audience. Monét Movement Productions: The Collective promotes individuality and freedom by building a platform that shares art with various communities.
As a new company, we were fortunate to present our work 'Rebirth' in the 11th Annual Making Moves Dance Festival this past September. Additionally, I was chosen as a semi-finalist in the JChen Core Choreography Competition #C3. We are currently in the rehearsal process for our next project to be premiered online in June 2021.
As a result, I have created this Relief Fund to help with costs incurred as a new dance collective. Your donations will help cover costs related to production, costumes, dancer fees and much more!
If you are able to donate, I greatly appreciate it. If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider sharing this with family and friends, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you to everyone who is supporting us and I look forward to sharing our next project with you all soon. Stay up to date on all MMPTC happenings by following us on Instagram and liking our Facebook page: @mmp.thecollective
