Moms’ Fight With Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Cookie. My mother, Yvonne Elliott, is fighting for her life. She was diagnosed with Stage Three HER 2 Positive pancreatic cancer just before Thanksgiving. Her oncologist suggested surgery known as the Whipple. It’s a very rough and complicated surgery for my mom. The problem is the tumor is obstructing the bile duct (causing her to be jaundiced) and wrapped around the main artery putting her life saving surgery on hold for a bit. Mom has to have chemo to shrink the tumor before the Whipple can be done. My father, Ronnie, drives Mom three hours round trip to see the oncologist and surgeon twice a week; sometimes more in an older model high mileage vehicle. Living on a tight and very strict budget makes it hard to afford the medication needed to fight the cancer. She has already had to turn down medication they were $700 and $300 with her copay. Mom and Dad are already stretched thin driving to the dr and to her chemo treatments. When Mom does go in for the Whipple surgery, she will be in the hospital for a week and have to learn to eat all over again. Dad will be with her the entire time due to their vehicles transmission slipping and the motor making funny noises. After the surgery, Mom will have to continue the chemo treatments until her doctor says to stop. My goal is to raise $35,000 to help with medical expenses, copays for her medication, travel expenses, and to help get a reliable used vehicle so she can get to the doctor and have the treatments to save her life. Please donate! Even $5 will help! Please share! Thank you and God Bless!!
