Drug Epidemic Awareness Walk Across America

Donation protected
Our walks are making a difference! I helped put together this grassroots movement to unite all groups across this country to bring education and awareness to this drug epidemic. We started off as grieving moms, lost in our grief, trying to find a purpose. We knew that our children no longer had a voice and were determined that we needed to show the country that we were going to be their voices. We formed walks throughout the country holding 8 foot banners, each containing 150 pictures of our lost loved ones. Very powerful as their faces speak volumes. We now are with recovery groups too and help advocate with them as well as we do not want to see another lost beautiful loved one added to the banners. . I am trying to fly to as many walks across our country as possible. To do this, I need your help. I have devoted my heart, soul, sweat, and tears to help organize these events. I quit my job and I gladly did this as I knew Brett would want me on this path. It is our purpose to help every single person who needs it. Whether it be a grieving family member, someone struggling or those in recovery. The Drug Epidemic Awareness Walk Across America is uniting people across the country to focus on one of the biggest health crisis' of our time. Our walks help grieving family members turn their pain into action. Our walks help them connect with others and gives them space to share the stories and faces of their loved ones without shame. Our walks reduce the stigma of the disease Of Addiction . Our walks inspire those in recovery to stay in recovery and those actively using to seek help. Although over a half of million Americans have died from this disease since 2010 and we are losing 200 beautiful people every day, the drug epidemic rages on without outcry. Tragically, education is severely lacking in schools and doctors' offices, leaving unsuspecting young families vulnerable to a preventable disease and loss. It is up to us, whether it be grieving families or those in recovery to build the bridge that connects us all. This initiative is focused not only on saving loved ones but also our future generation. We are focused on reducing the risk of self harm by supporting legislative efforts to mandate mental and behavioral health instruction in all classrooms across this country
I lost my beautiful, loving son Brett to heroin addiction in 2018 and am devoting my life to saving other families from experiencing this pain. In my heart, I know my Brett would want me to do this. He gave his all helping others during his short life on this planet. He would give the shirt off his back and his last pair of shoes to help someone in need. He always said, “ if you want to accomplish something in life, you have to find your purpose”. Creating drug epidemic awareness events across the country is now my purpose. These walks mean the world to me and the thousands of parents who are leading them across the country. Your donation will allow us to travel to some of the walk events and help them get community involvement, along with education in our schools. We also want to be able to give scholarships to those in need for rehab.  Any donation you make is greatly appreciated! We thank you so very much for donations in any amount.
