We love you Momma Schmear!

Hello friends & family!

I have not had the chance to share this with everyone, quite frankly because I think I'm still in a little bit of shock. (And she has no idea we created this page either) 

About a month ago (just before Mother's Day) our Momma, Sheryl Schmear, went to the Doctor with some severe pain where she was admitted for an emergency appendectomy. In her post-op appointment on May 13th they detected ovarian cancer. As you can imagine this was a shock to us all. However, we are believing it is a blessing that they were able to catch it early, because of the appendicitis. This morning (June 10th) she had a full hysterectomy performed. Doctors said the surgery went well. They did find cancer cells on her colon and had to remove part of it. She will remain in the hospital for another few days as she recovers and the pain subsides. The surgeon was pretty confident they were able to remove it all but they are still moving forward with chemo in a few weeks. This breaks my heart and I know it has been so overwhelming for my Mom. She has a long road of recovery ahead so we greatly appreciate your continued prayers. She is one of the strongest women I know so there is no doubt in my mind that she'll fight this and come out even stronger than before. Until then, she needs her army of friends/family to help her fight this battle. I know it can be overwhelming for her to answer questions/texts/calls from everyone but I know it would bring her such happiness to have the encouragement/prayers flooding in!

Also, over the last several months finances have been a struggle for my family. They are still currently living in a small apartment and have been praying for other living situations. It has taken a toll on everyone emotionally, mentally, physically & spiritually. (If y'all have any leads on housing or work for a self-employed Finish Carpenter/General Contractor with over 35 years of experience, please send them my way and I can pass them on to my family.) On top of everything with the medical procedures, my Mom was involved in a car accident on May 28th where someone else was at fault and their car was totaled. We are putting this GoFundMe account together to help with their medical and living expenses to lessen the financial stress/burdens as we walk this journey with them. 

If any of you know my Mom, you know she works tirelessly (with little to no complaining) and she selfelessly cares for others more than she cares for herself. I feel this is an opportunity for us to carry some of her burdens and help her! I know that seems like a big fundraising goal, but I believe in a big God :) If you are able to give any amount over the next few months, thank you & please share with others that may be interested in giving or that may know my Mom.

Finally, If you're in the Waukesha/Mukwonago area and are able to help make meals, run her errands (cause I know she's stubborn enough to want to do them herself), pray with her and help her with a new exercise regimen/diet, please let me know & I can get you in touch with my family that is around her.
